Just after 1:00 AM this morning, the Peters Township Fire Department was dispatched to assist the City of Washington Fire Department with a confirmed residential structure fire. Peters Firefighters responded with (2) personnel to assist with this incident, while (3) additional firefighters responded to the station in in order to provide coverage for any additional calls.
At approximately 01:30 AM, the Peters Township Police Department was dispatched for multiple calls with callers stating they may have heard a vehicle accident in the area of Fireside Drive and Candlelite Drive. Rescue 64, staffed with (3) firefighters and emergency medical providers, responded due to the potential for injuries and hazards. While the rescue truck was en route, Peters Police units confirmed that occupants of the vehicle were injured.
Due to the severity of the accident, Rescue 64 requested that additional personnel be called to staff the station. Upon arrival, the crew from Rescue 64 provided patient care and requested LifeFlight. Engine 641 and Squad 64 responded to St. Benedict's church to establish a landing zone and provide communication with the pilot.
Peters Fire units remained on scene until 4:50 AM to provide lighting for police investigators.
In all, 10 Peters Township Firefighters responded overnight to handle multiple critical incidents in a short period of time.
