Bat Boxes Installed

Bat Box Installation

Three bat boxes were installed around Peters Township on April 8, 2021.   These boxes create a habitat for bats to roost away from buildings, attics, and chimneys.  Dedicated roosting areas and shelters are key to co-habitation between bats and humans.

Unfortunately, White-Nose Syndrome is decimating our bat populations.  Shelters like these help bats survive.

The boxes were installed at Fire Station #1, Peters Lake Park, and near the Peters Township Community Recreation Center.

To view photos from the installations, please visit the Peters Township Bat Box page.
